Meet our Holland Tutoring Staff

As Center Director, Tina oversees the day to day running for Sylvan of Toledo. A former teacher with a wealth of valuable experience, Tina chose a career in the tutoring business because she enjoys being able to help students achieve their educational goals and to be excited by learning. She has a Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction and a Bachelors Degree in Social Science. When Tina isn't at Sylvan she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and 5 children and loves to vacation on Navarre Beach, Fla. 

Emma oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Toledo. A former 2nd and 4th-grade teacher in Toledo Charter schools, Emma brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Toledo. She graduated from Heidelberg University in 2019 with a BA Hons in Early Childhood Education & Theatre Arts. When Emma isn't at Sylvan, you will find her reading, watching movies, and perfecting her cooking skills. She loves spending time with her cat, Pesto, dogs, Gnocchi and Ziti, and boyfriend Shad.

Pandora is our Administrator who is available to help in many capacities. Born and educated in the U.K. she was a Police Officer for 10yrs before changing careers and becoming an Administrator with the National Health Service working in Children and Family Services. Pandora has worked for Sylvan since 2016 and before coming to Sylvan of Toledo she worked for Sylvan in Dallas, TX. When Pandora isn't at Sylvan, you will find her traveling or gardening and spending time with her husband, and 4 cats. 

Andrew works in our Holland Center as an Assistant. He has a MA in Business Administration from Lourdes University. Andrew overseas the smooth running of the tutoring sessions. Andrew taught Basic Business Concepts during his undergraduate program and enjoys the opportunity to pass on the gift of learning. Andrew is a big Sci-Fi fan and especially likes Star Trek. 

Denise is a tutor in our Holland location. She has tutored for the Sylvan Learning Center of Toledo since 2012, making her the longest serving tutor in our Holland center! Denise has a BS, MA & MS all education based degrees. She tutors our ACT/SAT Test Prep Program, Advanced Study Skills and Advanced Reading Skills Program. When not at Sylvan you will find Denise sitting poolside reading or enjoying spending time with her two granddaughters.

Cherie tutors in our Holland location. She graduated from Cleveland State University with a BSc in Education and a M.Ed in Urban Education. She has taught grades 3-6 during her time with the Orchard Magnet school of Science. Cherie now enthusiastically teaches our STEM Program. During her time away from Sylvan she enjoys swimming, gardening and playing lots of golf! 

Jamie is a tutor in our Holland OH center. She graduated from University of Toledo with a Masters of Education, Mild to Moderate Special Education and holds a Professional Intervention Specialist (K-12) License. Jamie enjoys tutoring the children that need a little extra support to learn. When not at Sylvan you will find her keeping busy with her 2 nieces, 1 nephew, and her cat. 

Joyce is a tutor in the Toledo OH area. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a BS in Elementary Education and went on to get a MA in Special Education from Eastern Michigan. She enjoys working with children of all ages and when not tutoring she loves spending time with her family her friends and her dogs!

Linda is a tutor in our Holland Center. She has both a Bachelor's of Education and a Master's of Science (Exercise Science). Linda taught as a substitute teacher after leaving college and retired in 2021 from Lucas County Children Services after 31 yrs. Linda enjoys seeing the children gain their confidence through learning new skills. When not teaching at Sylvan, she loves to workout, read and garden.

Sarah is currently a tutor in our Oregon location. She works as an Intervention Assistant for Rossford Schools. Sarah has a BA in Early Childhood Education from the University of Toledo.
When not teaching, Sarah enjoys track and field events and spending time with family.

Kristen is a tutor at our Franklin Park satellite location. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Cincinnati and an Master of Education from the University of Toledo. Kristen has taught middle school & high school English at private, public and charter schools. She is a mother of 3 and enjoys travelling and cooking. As a teacher she loves watching students improve their reading skills.    

Jeff is a 4th-grade teacher in Toledo, OH with a gift for working with children. While Jeff has many tutoring talents he finds the greatest joy in teaching the middle grades. Jeff graduated from Bowling Green State University Ohio in 2016 with a BA in Education. When he is not tutoring for the Sylvan Learning Center in Toledo you will find him playing men's softball with friends and spending time with his fiancé and puppy dog.

Leah is a tutor in our Holland Center. She has an associate's degree in Education from Owens Community Center and is continuing her education at University of Toledo. She has worked within the Toledo area as a teachers aide and a paraprofessional for the last 2 years. In her spare time Leah enjoys spending time with her cat and doing arts and crafts. Leah's favorite thing about working at Sylvan is how friendly and accepting staff members are to teachers, parents and students alike! 

Angie is a tutor in our Holland location. She specializes in Elementary school age teaching and has a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education. Her favorite subject is Math and makes the whole Math tutoring experience lots of fun! Engaging and encouraging the students to do their absolute best. Angie loves to help kids learn!
