    Center Director

    As Center Director, Angela focuses on making learning fun and creating a family friendly environment that promotes confidence, educational growth and fun for her students at Sylvan of Vacaville. A former Center Director for Sylvan of Modesto for the last five years, Angela chose a career in the tutoring business because she loves education and seeing her students excel. She has a B.S in Business Administration and Marketing from California Sate University Stanislaus. When Angela isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading, at the gym or catching the latest movies.

    Dezirai Johnson

    Administrative Assistant/Instructor

    Dezirai is a Sylvan tutor in Vacaville, CA who enjoys working with kids. She studied History at Southern New Hampshire University. Her passions are reading, writing, and world history. In her free time, she enjoys watercolor painting, writing, and traveling.

    Asa works with Sylvan students in math, reading, and homework support in a variety of subjects. After growing up in Vallejo, CA, and graduating from Benicia High School, he currently is pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at UC Davis. As a teacher at Sylvan, Asa values helping students build a logical basis of understanding for their studies. His hobbies include listening to and playing jazz, rock and metal music, gaming, and backpacking.

    Adrienne recently graduated from the California State University of Sacramento. Adrienne enjoys teaching and working with children because she believes education is powerful. During her free time, Adrienne likes to hang out with friends and cook new food

    Keri works primarily with elementary reading students at Sylvan.  Keri’s favorite part about teaching at Sylvan is watching her students’ confidence soar as they grow academically. She enjoys spending time with her family when she isn’t teaching, and loves to get lost in a good book.

    Vincent is a recent graduate from UC Irvine, studying Aerospace Engineering. He enjoys teaching all levels of math, including calculus as a Sylvan tutor. In his free time, Vincent can be found watching movies, playing games, or just making something.
  • Kortney, Instructor

    Kortney

    Instructor

    Kortney graduated from the University of California at Davis with a degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. She is deeply interested in how physiology affects psychology and behavior and vice versa. Kortney is currently enrolled in a Marriage and Family Therapy Master's program through Touro University and is completing her internship hours working with at-risk youth. When she is not teaching or learning Kortney enjoys creating memories with her own children, volunteering at community events, and working with animals.

    Shelbie is a Teacher here at Sylvan with a gift for working with kids.  While Shelbie has many tutoring talents, she finds her greatest joy working in math-related subjects.  When Shelbie isn't at Sylvan you'll find her reading a good book or spending time with family and friends.

    Devin is a Sylvan tutor in Vacaville, CA who enjoys working with kids. He currently studies Mathematics at UC Davis, so his favorite subject to teach is naturally math. In his free time, he enjoys biking and playing video games.
