Our tutors and staff in Vandalia consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Derek Flatter
Executive Director
Mr. Flatter has 19 years of experience in public education; 11 years in the classroom and 8 years as an educational leader. Derek’s primary focus at Sylvan is to set a path for all of the students to grow in areas that will equip them for success in an ever-changing world.
Jaimie Catoe
Office Manager
Jaime is that welcoming person as you enter the center and so much more. She runs the center and ensures everyone has exactly what they need to ensure our students will have maximum success.
Debbie Kroeker
Academic Advisor
Mrs. Debbie has been a long-time Sylvan employee in Vandalia, Ohio. While Debbie has an assortment of talents, you will most likely find her helping inform families of the many Sylvan programs we offer in Vandalia. She loves the personal interaction she has with the families we serve. When Debbie isn’t at Sylvan, she is involved in the community, church, and school activities.
