Our tutors and staff in West Richardson consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Richardson know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores.     Center Director

    As Center Director, Rebecca leads our Sylvan of West Richardson team. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Political Science and holds a teaching certification for Social Studies 6-12. When Rebecca isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with her family, reading, or watching movies.

    Holly Williams

    Director of Education

    Holly oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Richardson. A former Educational Program Specialist for Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas in Dallas, Holly brings a  wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of West Richardson. She earned her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her favorite thing about Sylvan is the community of people she has had the opportunity to meet. When Holly isn't at Sylvan, you'll find her exploring new adventures through food and travel, or spending time with loved ones. 
  • Cheryl Shepperd, Teacher

    Cheryl Shepperd


    Cheryl Shepperd is a Reading, Writing, and Upper Level Math Tutor at the West Richardson location. She currently works at Serenity High school teaching all subjects of mathematics. While Cheryl has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy fostering a love and appreciation for math with her students. She studied at Texas State University at San Marcos and has her certification in secondary math for grades 6-12. When Cheryl isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her participating in church activities, reading, and baking.
  • Aalaa Al-Saad , Teacher

    Aalaa Al-Saad


    Aalaa is a reading and language arts teacher at Sylvan of West Richardson with a passion for helping students succeed. She earned her BA in English Literature at Qatar University and is currently completing her Master's degree in English at the University of Sheffield. She also has experience teaching math and science at the elementary and intermediate levels. Her favorite thing about teaching is seeing the children's eyes light up when they understand new concepts. When not at Sylvan, you'll find Aalaa horseback riding, hiking and drawing horses!
